Why do we choose the songs we do to "Cover"?

I've been thinking about why I chose to record the 10 songs from my cover songbook I perform live. A few weeks ago, there were about 45 or so to choose from...

In a lot of ways, I chose the ones that weighed the most heavily on my mind to bring to a new light - a new cover. There was a strange magnetic draw in that happened when I reviewed the lyrics and titles in my book.

Others artists? Well, they might have some the same or different, but it's ultimately up to our own hearts and staying true to the song and the well-being of our own creative minds. Others might have covered the same songs in the past - don't know, and that's okay, but the way i see each one of them - how i interpret each second of the song is what matters. THAT'S what makes them unique - they're inherently me. They say so much about who i am & the positive light that i view the world.
